Our Members
Meet the band! Our members are some of the most talented young musicians in the Twin-Cities area. Although they have many different backgrounds, each of them has a passion for making music.

Director
Conor Stoebner
Conor is an audit associate at Olsen Thielen CPAs. When he’s not crunching numbers, you can usually find him whipping up something tasty in the kitchen, spending time with family, or cheering on the Vikings (and let’s be honest, they need all of the support that they can muster). Conor has been conducting the Two Sundays Big Band for five years, and enjoys the challenges of working on some of his favorite music. He is especially grateful for the opportunity to work with some of the most talented and dedicated young musicians in the Twin-Cities area, and hopes to continue for many years to come.

Manager and Alto Sax
Sarah Hammerlund
Sarah is the manager of and plays saxophone for the Two Sundays Big Band. Outside of the band she works as a veterinary technician and her hobbies include playing video games, going to Olive Garden with her friends, and taking selfies with her puppy patients at work - she will show some you if you ask! She graduated from UMD with a biochemistry degree in 2021 and in the future hopes to delve deeper into the world of animal science. She is looking forward to sharing her love of music with her friends this summer!

Alto Sax
Parker Stoebner
Lighting McQueen once said: “Speed, I am speed.” I live my life by these words. I use speed in my sax playing, I use speed as I cross up Austin Henderson (the dude sitting on my left) in band basketball, and speed in my number crunching abilities as an accountant at the University of Minnesota. I room with Eric Wu (the drummer) who’s also an accountant at the U. He’s just okay. The only time I don’t listen to Mr. McQueens famous words is during rehearsal with the Two Sundays Big Band, when I want to slow down and just enjoy the moment!

Tenor Sax
Jake Schumacher
Jake, based in Minneapolis, spends most of his musical days playing lead tenor in the North Star Big Band, a swing band based in St. Paul. While he spends most of his time now playing swing dances, his time at Winona State, where he earned a bachelors in music performance and a minor in jazz studies gave him a great understanding of all types of music including swing, jazz, funk, classical, and even pop and rock. Aside from gigging Jake also maintains a private studio full of saxophone, flute and clarinet students. Hobbies outside of music (because we all need those) include golfing, camping, fishing, and playing a questionable amount of Farming Simulator.

Tenor Sax
Austin Henderson
Austin is a rising Sophomore at Chaska High School for Fall ‘23 and this is his third summer playing with Two Sundays. He also plays in the Chaska High School Jazz Band and Wind Symphony led by Tim Beckler and they recently completed a tour in Italy performing in Sorrento, Amalfi, and Rome. He is inspired by Phil Woods, Eric Marienthal, and Charlie Parker and he is a student of local saxophone great Kenni Holmen. When Austin is not playing jazz music, he enjoys mountain biking, downhill skiing, basketball and jet skiing.

Bari Sax
Arjun Balyan
Arjun is a Communications major at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Arjun has been playing saxophone for 12 years, and bari in particular for 9. In college, Arjun has played in various ensembles, most notably the marching band for 4 years on alto saxophone, and a year and a half playing bari sax in Jazz Ensemble 1. Arjun’s hobbies include skiing, video games, table top games, and tennis, always looking for new opponents to play against.

Trombone
Michael May
A recent graduate of the University of Iowa, Michael May works as an Actuarial Analyst at Allianz in Golden Valley. When he isn’t working, Michael devoted his time to his hobbies, including reading, video games, and music. Michael is a prolific jazz musician, specializing in trumpet, trombone, arranging, and composition. His compositions and arrangements are featured on his debut album “Midnight Constellation” which is available to be purchased or streamed on all major platforms.

Trombone
Dan Ewing
Daniel is a well-rounded musician currently finishing his first year at the Meadows School of the Arts at SMU in Dallas Texas. He has participated in GTCYS, is a 2 time All-State trombonist, and is currently involved in the Meadows Symphony, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Combo. In his free time, he also enjoys to play ultimate frisbee, and showing up with one makes for a fun time guaranteed.

Trumpet
Natalie Roth
Natalie graduated from Chaska High School this June. She is excited to attend the University of Iowa in the fall, majoring in music education and trumpet performance. She can’t wait to continue making music at Iowa and then go on to live in a band room somewhere for the rest of her life!

Trumpet
Aaron O'Connor
Aaron is a music education major at Anoka Ramsey Community College, and is planning to transfer to the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire within the next couple of years. Music is a pretty big part of his life, from participating in marching band to going to concerts. Aside from music, he likes adventuring, trying limited edition foods at fast food places, and playing (and winning) competitive monopoly.

Trumpet
Josh Catipon
Josh recently graduated from CSB+SJU. For fun, Josh likes to spend his time hanging out with his friends, working out at the gym, and cooking/sharing meals with his friends. “Shout out to CSB+SJU and the music department for providing a great learning environment for individuals to foster their passion for music.”

Guitar
Addison Stoebner
Addison is a young musician who just finished his senior year at Chaska high school. In his free time Addison runs an Ebay store, hangs out with friends, and loves to play wiffle ball. His favorite musicians are John Mayer, BB King, and John Denver. Addison remains focused on his studies and plans to major in investment banking at the University of St. Thomas next year.

Piano
Corissa Uberecken
When she’s not playing jazz music, Corissa loves practicing guitar, baking cookies, and biking around the metro. She’s been playing piano for 11 years and is excited to reprise her role as the pianist in Two Sundays this season!

Drums
Eric Wu
Eric grew up in Chaska and is now currently attending the University of Minnesota (Row my boat!). He has been drumming with the Two Sundays Big Band for 5 years and is known across the band for his famous tagline - “drummer? I barely know ‘er!”. In his free time, Eric doesn’t enjoy living with his roommate Parker (Alto Sax). He would rather play basketball or Minecraft with friends.

Bass
Bryce Davis
Bryce graduated from Chaska High School in 2021 and has attended Minnesota State University Mankato for two years. This fall he will be going to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music to study music production and recording. Bryce has played in the Two Sundays ensembles for 6 years, primarily on the bass but also playing drums and keys in other years. Outside the band, Bryce has played a variety of styles in numerous other ensembles, some in-school and some extracurricular. He also enjoys music production and arranging for both the musical and technical aspects, recording music for many projects and groups during his time in Mankato.
